Word Count Trouble
Too long and too short are the same problem: the argument is not shaped.
Two thousand words over and eight hundred under are the same diagnosis: the argument has not been shaped, so the writing is either circling or stalling. Cutting is easy once you can see which paragraphs describe and which analyse — the first kind goes. Filling is the same trick in reverse: find the claim with no evidence behind it and give it some. We do both without touching your voice.
